Explore Devon

Devon offers something for everyone - breathtaking coastline, majestic Dartmoor & Exmoor, rolling countryside, historic cities and bustling market towns.

Along the coastline of North Devon, you will find dramatic headlands and golden sandy stretches popular with surfers. Along the South Devon coastline, you will find sandstone cliffs, white pebble beaches, golden sands and sheltered bays. Many popular resorts, including the English Riviera (Torquay, Paignton & Brixham) can be found along this outstanding stretch of coastal beauty.

Green rolling hills, coloured patchworks of fields and high sided lanes leading to small towns and villages, make up the tranquility that is Devon's countryside. In contrast, Dartmoor and Exmoor offer majestic views, tumbling streams and a touch of mystery and legend.

Devon is rich in heritage – stone circles, ancient medieval routes, historic market towns, the Roman city of Exeter and Plymouth with its famous maritime connections. Literary associations also abound – Agatha Christie, Conan Doyle, Dickens and the romantic poets have all drawn inspiration from here.
